Hilton Garden Inn
- Orange Beach, AL: Centrally Located for Golf!
By David Theoret
The truth is that there's a lot of great golf courses in the Gulf Shores, AL area. The problem is that only a few offer on-property lodging, meaning golfers are often left to fend for themselves when it comes to finding a place to stay when they book a golf vacation to the area.
One property worthy of consideration is the Hilton Garden Inn on Orange Beach, AL. This waterfront hotel is about 20 minutes away from a number of courses including: Perdido Bay Golf Course, Lost Key Golf Club, Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club and Craft Farms.
The rooms at HGI, Orange Beach are well appointed and the Serta Perfect Sleep beds are extremely comfortable. Our room had a king bed with and full view of the beach. There was a refrigerator, microwave, desk and chair, plenty of desk space to get some work done. When it's time to relax, make yourself a cup of coffee in Keurig® coffeemaker, turn on the HDTV and enjoy premium channels and on-demand movies, or get online with free WiFi.
Hilton Garden Inn on Orange Beach is literally steps from the beach, with views of the Gulf of Mexico from many rooms. Nearby you'll find a number of coastal attractions as well as a myriad of restaurants. The hotel's Garden Grille & Bar is open for breakfast, and has quite the breakfast buffet, with just about every type pf breakfast food you can think of. What they don't have, they can make in the kitchen. Their specialty is omelets; some of the best I've ever had. A number of local restaurants will deliver lunch and/or dinner to you at the hotel too.
As well as having the Gulf of Mexico at your beck and call, there's a lot to do at the Hilton Garden Inn. Work up a good sweat in the fitness center, where you'll find everything you need for a good workout. Relax in the whirlpool and soothe those aching muscles after your workout. Splash around in the outdoor pool and soak up some rays or just stroll up and down the sparkling white sand beach. Should you find the need to get some work done, they also have a full-service business center. All rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn are non-smoking and parking is free. About: David Theoret
David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.
Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.
After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
